Frequently Asked Questions
Question - I am often asked, "I own/lease a Mercedes-Benz under factory warranty and if I have my car serviced at East Bay Autohaus, will it void my warranty?"
Answer - No, absolutely not. We validate New Vehicle Warranties and as the owner of your vehicle you can legally take it to any repair facility of your choice and doing so will NOT void your warranty.
Question - My dealer told me that I have to take my vehicle to them because they use all original parts and have factory trained technicians, do you offer the same?
Answer - East Bay Autohaus prides itself in using original parts and is owned and run by factory trained and certified Mercedes-Benz technicians.
Question - What is the difference between after-market, OEM and Original parts?
Answer -
After-market - refers to a product made to fit your vehicle by a manufacturer that has not produced the part for Mercedes-Benz.
OEM - The term, OEM (original equipment manufacturer) refers to companies that make products for others to repackage and sell. Resellers buy OEM products in bulk, minus the costly retail packaging that comes with individually sold units. The product itself is essentially the same as its more expensive, Mercedes-Benz packaged sibling.
Original Equipment - refers to parts produced for or by Mercedes-Benz to meet their standards. They are normally packaged in a Mercedes-Benz box. East Bay Autohaus uses original equipment from Mercedes-Benz.
Question - I own a 2008 CLS and would like to know if you can service my car?
Answer - Yes we can perform any non-warranty service to your vehicle; we are equipped, trained and certified to service many systems on your vehicle, including Sensotronic Braking System, FSS and many more..
Question - I have an extended warranty on my Mercedes-Benz, does East bay Autohaus honor those warranties?
Answer - yes; we accept all extended warrantees except CPO and Starmark issued by Mercedes-Benz. CPO and Starmark warranties are only honored at a dealer. General maintenance can still be performed at East Bay Autohaus.
Question - Why should I pay for an "A" Service or a "B" Service when I can just get my oil changed for much cheaper?
Answer - A simple oil and filter change does just that, changes your oil and filter. When we perform the scheduled maintenance, we follow the Mercedes-Benz Flexible Service Sheet (FSS Sheet) performing the recommend checks, adjustments and inspections required to keep you vehicle performing the way it was designed by the engineers. In addition to performing all that is listed on the inspection sheet, the Flexible Service reminder is also re-set.
East Bay Autohaus has one of the most competitive "A" and "B" Service pricing in the industry. We do this to help and encourage our clients to perform the scheduled servicing.
